Everybody deserves their own Summit.
One of the most captivating and engaging event and meeting techniques is the Scenario Based Policy Discussion (SBPD). A new approach that increases participation and deepens the discussion during high-level meetings. The more interesting the debate, the more attendees will see its value, the greater the chance of them actively participating in it and continuing the conversation long after it ends. A SBPD is based on a fictitious still highly realistic scenario and presented through one or more immersive films that present public or private policy dilemmas related to a topic. Event participants respond to the presented scenario and discuss possible solutions. The method has its origins in military simulations or ‘wargames’ in which strategic decisions are tested and adjusted.
The Hague based Scenarios4Summits successfully introduced the Scenario Based Policy Discussion on the conference floor at the 2014 Nuclear Security Summit, that brought together fifty-three heads of state. Since then, Scenarios4Summits has developed and filmed scenarios for high-level national and international events around the world. We take things even further by offering virtual reality experiences that allow event-goers to be fully immersed in a realistic simulation environment.
A Scenario Based Discussion not only triggers debate, but also deepens it, as it offers attendees the ability to experience first-hand what really is at stake.
