One of the most fascinating new event and meeting techniques is the Scenario Based Policy Discussion (SBPD). A new technique that increases participation by aiming at deepening the discussion. The more interesting the debate, the more attendees will learn from it and the greater the chance of them actively participating in it or even continuing the conversation during breaks. A SBPD is based on a fictitious but highly realistic scenario and presented through one for more immersive films that present policy dilemmas related to the topic. Event participants are asked to react to the scenario and to discuss possible solutions. The method has its origins in military simulations or ‘wargames’, in which strategic decision can be tested and adjusted.
The Hague based Scenarios4Summits successfully introduced the Scenario Based Policy Discussion on the conference floor at the 2014 Nuclear Security Summit, that brought together fifty-three heads of state. Since then, Scenarios4Summits has developed and filmed scenarios for high-level national and international events around the world. We take things even further by offering virtual reality experiences that allow event-goers to be fully immersed in a realistic simulation environment.
A Scenario Based Discussion not only triggers debate, but also deepens it, as it offers attendees the ability to experience first hand what really is at stake.
Based on your objectives, we identify key questions and create a tailored interactive discussion supported by high-quality films and professional moderators helping stakeholders solving complex issues.
